Story Telling is the Key:
You need to be very good at telling stories. The best ads in the world are stories. The person who tells the best story is the person who makes the most money.
Example:
“MEN WANTED FOR HAZARDOUS JOURNEY,
SMALL WAGES, BITTER COLD, LONG MONTHS OF COMPLETE DARKNESS,
CONSTANT DANGER, SAFE RETURN DOUBTFUL, HONOUR & RECOGNITION
IN CASE OF SUCCESS.”
That was a powerful example and the person filled out his whole crew and so many people responded to it.
The reason why the title for this post is “That doesn’t Surprise me” is because most marketers have no idea how to effectively write copy so welcome to the Secrets of Copyrighting.
2nd Example:

* When you are dealing with yourselves you all have stories hidden deep inside of you.
* We all have personal legends and epic tales and that is what the client wants to here.

So why are Stories so Powerful?
Story telling and word of mouth has been embedded into us from the day of time. Included in biblical books best selling authors. The human brain is programmed to be receptive to stories.
People are hard-wired for stories and yet most people are terrible at telling stories so this is a big advantage for those of you who can.
3 Main Categories of Stories:
* Life-changing or “Epic Stories”… like getting married, getting rich or going broke, getting hip or cool, getting sick…
* Significant Events… like car wreck a big break up, a new job, a stalking incident.
* Insignificant observations (My Best friends and I can be relaxing and chilling out and something small can happen however we can make a story about it which could last for hours and then reminisce about it later down the line like… “Remember when we or Remember that time when we….”
The more Universal the More Personal:
If you were to ask a crowd of people how many of them have not had their heart broken in their life and no-one could say they havent. This is the kind of research that you want to be thinking about it all the time.
How many people who had their heart broken for the first time thought they were the only ones suffering like this?
When you Master the Art of Story Telling it is best for you to Start with Mastering Significant Events or learn how to craft those. When you start getting better you will go deeper.
Basic Elements of a Great Story
1) Punchy Co-herant Plot Line
2) Action or the Setup of Action
3) A punch line, moral or POINT
4) Additional relevant detail (Painting a pleasing picture in the prospects head)
BEWARE A LIST OF FACTS OR FEATURES IS NOT A STORY!
A WELL PLANNED & REASONED LOGICAL ARGUMENT IS NOT A STORY!
A Good Story Is…
* Engaging or surprising…
* Full of meaningful insight, info, or belly laughs…
* A “trip” that lulls your listener into a receptive state…

This is how you can posture your Message Daily on the Social Networks like (Facebook & Twitter)
When you see your life as a Movie you start seeing it at its best in terms of lighting and direction stage craft and setup and they become natural. So when you tell the story you can go out of the way to make it happen.

Try to do the Story in 3 sentences.
For Example…
“Suzy and I, at seventeen, started out convinced no one had ever felt a love so wild and crazy before. However, that dizzy high of shared hormonal bliss… was cruelly followed with heartache and misery with her attention shifted away from me. And I ended up as as a sad, sad boy, convinced no one had ever felt such pain before.”
* KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE MADE YOUR POINT DON’T DRAG STORY OUT.

How do you Make your Messages Compelling Enough to Convert the Listener to Take ACTION?

The Bar Room Conversation:
Understand that whoever you are talking to that you have interrupted his or her day whether it is an email or a ad or a video. You are uninvited so you cant take anything for granted.
You need to nail there emotional sweet-spot, HARD FAST and 3 sentence rule.
Setup
Plot
Point
Just a 3 sentence story.
The top writers write like every single word has to earn its way onto the page or in the copy or video. Adjectives are bad evil and Nasty. Let the verb do the work for you.
A Basic Example of this is:
He walked down the street.
How many different ways can you say that…
He floated down the street on a cloud of love
He bolted down the street in a blind panic.
USE A THESAURUS EVERY TIME IN COPY
When you raise your vocabulary just a little bit people listen to your stories…
Here is an Example Email I sent and the response I got after implementing the strategies above:
